    PetroChina, at its IPO, raised 66.8 billion yuan (approx $9.5 billion) selling 4 billion shares at the offer price of 16.7 yuan ($2.35) each. That was almost half the amount of funds generated by Visa’s share sale of $17.9 billion from 406 million shares @ $44 each.

    However, the eventual market capitalization of PetroChina’s entire shareholding, after the market opened and trading began, was $1.1 trillion, whereas, the figures mentioned in the article here were published before trading began for Visa.
